Prayer for healing starts with confession and repentance. God hears a wholehearted confession and forgives. This is a spiritual Law. You must understand that when you confess and repent wholeheartedly, you are indeed forgiven. Your mouth has spoken words representing thoughts and attitudes deep within your heart. Let no doubts trouble your mind and torment your soul. Let your mind and heart come to complete agreement with this fact: The moment you pray for forgiveness, God forgives you. The moment you confess and repent, God wipes it out. His forgiveness is immediate. Everything else is a lie from the pit of hell.
Jesus did not take a month, a week, a day, or even an hour to grant you forgiveness when you first repented and were saved. The very moment when you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you are saved (Romans 10:9). So it is with confessing our sins after we have entered the kingdom of God.
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9)
The enemy’s biggest target is the believer walking on the narrow road toward Eternity with Jesus. The Devil is like a thief in the night (John 10:10), like a prowling lion looking for someone to devour (1 Peter 5:8). Sin weakens the armor of God, giving the Devil an “open door” access to harm the believer (Ephesians 4:26-27). Confession and repentance from sin closes that door immediately, preventing any attack from being successful.
Question: When was the last time you confessed and repented?
