Any form of abuse is a double murder. First, its judgment stands against the offender who committed the wrongdoing, convicting them of sin. At the same time, it provokes a sinful reaction from the victim who suffered the offense. This reaction is a self-defense mechanism against the abuser with the end goal of survival. Hatred and anger towards the perpetrator are the most natural response of a victim. When the abuse persists over a longer period, these reactions become fixed psychological constructs set in the mind of the individual. Hatred and anger become part of the individual’s character. At this point, these are not only mere psychological constructs but curses associated with violating the four basic spiritual laws.
Spiritual Law 1: Honor your father and your mother, as the Lord your God has commanded you. So that you may live long and that it may go well with you in the land the Lord your God is giving you. (Deuteronomy 5:16)
Spiritual Law 2: Do not be deceived; God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap. (Galatians 6:7)
Spiritual Law 3: Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. (Matthew 7:1-2)
Spiritual Law 4: For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. (Matthew 6:14; Luke 6:37)
