True transformation occurs when there is nothing more to be taken from the old nature of flesh but more to be added to the new nature one gains in Christ. Jesus made this process of purification and sanctification possible to all who accept His free sacrificial gift. Through Christ, believers now have the potential to become holy and perfect as God Himself. Jesus plants the seed of righteousness in the believer's heart to grow into a mighty tree rooted in eternal life. We are called to become oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of His splendor (Isaiah 61:3b).
What a call! Whoever looks at a believer in Christ should see God’s splendor and glory! Now consider asking yourself, “Am I, as a believer in Jesus, a true display of God’s spelnder?” What would the answer be?
The presence of God’s Spirit has cleansing power, which is required to obtain Christ’s likeness. It is God who saves us from all our uncleanness (Ezekiel 36:29). It is not by our might nor by our power, but by His Spirit, (Zechariah 4:6) that we are transformed from glory to glory (2 Corinthians 3:18). This is what all believers in Christ should experience in their lives. But is this the reality you are experiencing in your life right now?
Question: What are the things that prevent me from being a channel for the display of God’s splendor? Write down practices and behaviors incompatible with the Kingdom of God.
