One thing Rise of Jigoku contains is the second set of Sensei for each of the Clans. Unlike Ivory Edition (A Line in the Sand) and Twenty Festivals (Evil Portents), the plan for Onyx was to provide the second set of theme sensei in the first expansion to the arc, rather than the second, so the themes have a longer play lifetime. The set also contained the second of the three 'former Mantis' sensei, this time for the Tsuruchi.
Here's a bit from the Akasha (Naga), Crab, and Crane.
You will also notice the term "banish" being used in cards like Kagami Sensei. This is mechanically identical to "Remove a card from the game", but takes up much less space and is overall cleaner, so think of it as more of a shorthand than a serious change. We will be including an Onyx Datasheet with quick reference terms for things like this, as well as active Onyx Edition keywords and action descriptors.
PLEASE PARDON OUR DUST
This article originally appeared on Facebook, and the cards included used AI procedurally-generated art. The Onyx Lives! Project has made a public statement on our cessation of the use of generative AI art. Such art has been removed from the composited cards which were posted with the original preview article, in an effort to preserve the original text which may have evolved since the previews were first posted -- warts and all.
