Road to Ruin: Previews Week, Day 3

Greetings! We continue our Road to Ruin Previews Week with the Naga (although technically the Akasha Clan, old habits die hard) and the Phoenix.

The Naga find themselves in a delicate balancing act, as they strive to revitalize and rebuild their own people while accommodating a slowly but steadily growing number of human refugees seeking sanctuary in the Shinomen. However, this influx of humans has inevitably attracted the attention of the Spider, complicating matters further. While many Naga, driven by their hatred of the Shadowlands and their empathy for their old allies, extend a helping hand to the refugees, there are hardliners who view humans as the agents of their own destruction and would rather see them face the consequences of their actions.

On the other hand, the Phoenix, who were never a military powerhouse, made significant commitments to defending both the Second and Third seals, which have left them depleted and devastated. They are now struggling to fend off increasingly bold raids and assaults from Kanpeki's allies, the Yobanjin, who ruthlessly burn and plunder everything in their path. In an effort to protect Isawa's City from discovery, many Phoenix refugees seek shelter in the mountains or on the roads, avoiding leading their enemies to this sacred place. One notable group, comprising many of the clan's youth, is led by Isawa Hibana, who hopes to cross the treacherous Western Wastes and reach the Second City in search of sanctuary.
