One of Crane's Onyx themes was a defensive honor deck centered around Yojimbos and Courtiers. Yojimbos were a theme for several clans during Onyx, which allowed for more utility out of Yojimbo cards in general in and out of draft situations.
You may notice -1GP on both this and the previous Chuda Sensei. While this was largely considered a death sentence in older editions, the advent of gold pooling and a focus on developing the 3G scheme often meant in Onyx there was either no difference or (occasionally) the 3G economy proved more efficient than the standard 4G.
You will also see several new keywords in these cards. Among them is Sincerity, which basically gives your cards more power after coming into play the longer they sat in your provinces face-up. Sincerity's rulebook wording is "Sincerity -Before your turn ends, give each Sincerity card in your Provinces a Sincerity token. After a Sincerity card enters play, remove all Sincerity tokens from it."
This proved an interesting and strong mechanic all through playtesting Onyx, though it did lead to some bookkeeping issues in physical games that could admittedly sometimes be a hassle (nobody likes bowing cards with a bunch of different tokens/tracking on them). Nerishma also references 'face-up cards in your hand'. This refers to another keyword, Honesty, in which cards had stronger effects if you played with them while they were face-up in your fate hand, which you could reveal from your hand as Open action (I've lost the documentation with the exact wording for Honesty, but this is close enough that you get the idea).
Also note [Re-Pete] and [Artillery] are ROU cards, and thus have zero playtesting or rules input. You've been warned.
