As a followup to all of the Three Dynasties clan previews, we're kicking things off early for Previews Week with a look at Unaligned Personalities to be found in the base set.
First up is a new Experienced level for the ever-popular Elemental Dragons, all now featuring the Tengoku icon we have introduced with the set. Powerful allies as always, they hold particular synergy with the Phoenix Shrine of Eight Heavens deck. All of the newly-created artwork for our dragons was provided by contributing artist Jay Longfellow!
Even with the gates of Tengoku opened, and Celestial power pouring into the mortal realm to diminish the enhanced power of Jigoku and restore some measure of balance, those who dwell or traffic in the dark grip of the Shadowlands continue to threaten the mortal world. Special thanks to both Jay Longfellow and Jonny Le Streghe for more fantastic art pieces on our two Oni!
The upheaval of a divided Empire, the collapse of the social order, and years of warfare ravaging the countryside has led to an explosion of disaffected samurai plying their trade as mercenaries. With as many motivations as there are sellswords, which of them will find places in your decks?
Of course, it is not only those of the samurai caste that are seeking paths in this new, uncertain world.
The previous Grand Master of the Elements, Naka Mahatsu, had been training his successor when the War of the Seals broke out, and the fate of the two men was unknown, but they were presumed dead. The return of the Elemental Dragons has heralded the anointing of a new Grand Master, guided to his calling by the mysterious appearance of a former Grand Master's teachings.
We hope you have enjoyed this preview of some of our Unaligned Personalities, bringing our dive into that card type to a close. Join us next time for a look at the Events, Rings, and Winds of Three Dynasties!
