The Parliament Building is a Neoclassical-Style Building consisting of 3 floors and a lower basement floor.
The Parliament Building was the first building in Matthium.
Construction on the Parliament Building originally started on October 22nd, 2024.
Construction of the main Parliament Building was completed on October 30th, 2024.
The Parliament Building features three main entrances, the North, East, and West Porticos.
The lower portion of the building features two floors, while a 3rd floor sits just above the Parliamentary Meeting Chamber in the Rotunda.
The building is made almost entirely of Quartz. It's design takes inspiration from the U.S. Capitol Building and the Roman Senate.
The lower two floors of the Parliament building are mostly reserved for office & lobby space.
These were the first parts built when the Parliament Building was being constructed.
The Rotunda was one of the most detailed and challenging parts of constructing the Parliament Building.
The Rotunda is greatly inspired by the U.S. Capitol building, and is made almost entirely of quartz, featuring three layers of windows, a terrace, and a large meeting chamber inside.
The original reason why the Rotunda was built so large was to accommodate the Parliamentary Chamber's convex ceiling.
The interior of the Rotunda was originally planned to be office space split into two floors, but it later was decided that the Parliamentary War Room would be a better fit.
The Rotunda served as the military strategic planning and meeting room until June of 2025 when it was repurposed to serve as the Parliamentary Ball Room in preparation for the Limette Ball. Following the Limette Ball it was decided that the Rotunda would remain in its current ballroom configuration, as military meetings had moved to the Ministry of Defense.
The Parliament Building's interior follows a similar neoclassical style as is shown on the exterior.
The building has mostly checkered marble flooring along with a great amount of dark oak hardwood flooring for office spaces.
A large sunken circular stripped dark oak pattern along with gold-lined marble exterior path make up the flooring inside the Parliamentary Chamber, red carpets are also used throught the building.
The Parliamentary Chamber was designed without any major basis, though it is inspired by the New & Old U.S. Senate Chambers, The U.K. House of Lords, and the German Reichstag.
In December of 2024, a major underground expansion was added underneath the West Wing of the Parliamentary Building. The expansion would be built to feature a parliamentary executive meeting room, painting galleries, and an emergency ground exit.
In Late January of 2025, the basement would be continued to flow under the East Wing.
It would also now give the East Stairwell access to the basement, and provide space for executive offices and a Parliamentary Documents Vault.
