Camp Duratus is named after the Latin word 'Duratus' meaning "hardened" and "endured."
The name Duratus references the camp being one of EmoKingdom's farthest reaching outposts and its ability to endure the harsh weather of its region.
Camp Duratus' name also refers to the hardening of security throughout the Stiria Territory, the highest producer of emeralds for the Empire.
Camp Duratus' complex is made up of 8 tents, 2 large tents, and one main cabin.
Camp Duratus is not fortified enough to be referred to as a fort, and thus is the only 'Camp' in the EmoKingdish armed forces.
Camp Duratus is very similar in style to Fort McFleur, though it has significantly thinner walls and features no stone buildings.
Camp Duratus has never been deployed.
In July of 2025, Outpost Vector was breached and some property was taken from the complex.
Later in September of 2025, The EmoKingdom Airforce was deployed in the far southeast region and was forced to operate with no armed outposts in the region.
Following each of these events, it became evident that the Empire was in need of a southeastern military outpost, and thus the Ministry of Defense issued an order for the construction of Camp Duratus in early December of 2025 to aide in southeastern operations and to defend Outpost Vector.
Following its construction, Camp Duratus' design faced some controversy over its use of wooden materials in a similar manor to Fort McFleur, which had previously been deemed a failure and far too expensive. However, Camp Duratus used techniques to save wood at the cost of some security, resulting in a much lower cost and the camp being constructed far faster than Fort McFleur. The Ministry of Defense has since declared Camp Duratus as a financial success.
