Dr. Shadow's real name is Victor Shade, he was transformed by a solar eclipse which caused him to discover that he could manipulate shadows and bend them to his will.
Victor Shade soon realised that he could use his powers for evil, leading him to become a supervillain.

Dr. Shadow's primary weapon is Shadow Manipulation, which allows him to manipulate shadows and use them to his advantage.
Using Shadow Manipulation, Dr. Shadow is able to use shadows to create solid masses, teleport through them, and render himself invisible.

Dr. Shadow's lair is located in an abandoned lighthouse in Gloomsburg. Dr. Shadow is part of the Umbra Society, a secret organization dedicated to taking over the world.
His sidekick is Ms. Twilight, a master treasure hunter & adventurer.

Dr. Shadow's arch-nemesis is Professor Light, she is a superhero with the ability to manipulate light.
The two have been enimies for years, their battles often result in destruction and chaos.
Stanley Griff, Professor Light's protege, also has a personal vendetta against Dr. Shadow, as the villain was responsible for the death of Stanley's parents.
