Criminal Summons:
•Compels an Accused to Court without an Arrest
•Only contains a Court Date
•Commonly used for Summary Offences where grounds for a charge exist but Accused was not “found committing”
•Accused will be served the Summons at future time and the Court date is set by the Court Branch
PATROL Requirements:
GOR - include the grounds for the requested charge, explain why summons is requested (ie accused not found committing summary offence), at the end of the GOR add "CRIMINAL SUMMONS REQUESTED"
