CRC Report Criteria:
The collision must have happened within city limits
No on-ramps or off-ramps. Must be on a city roadway
The vehicle and the driver must both be at the CRC
If there is property damage to any City property (ie. hydro pole, guard rail, city signs, etc.), the CRC cannot do the report and the report must be done by HPS so that it reflects the damage.
There must be no damage to personal property (ie. house, fence on a homeowner's property, front porch of house, etc.). This report would have to be done by HPS to reflect the damage.
The driver must be present at the CRC with the following documents: original driver's license, ownership (permit), and insurance information. The driver's license cannot be a copy (has to be original), but copies of ownership/permit and insurance information will be accepted.
The driver must be going through insurance to get the vehicle fixed.
The CRC will accept injuries that are not of a serious nature.
If the drivers decline EMS attention at the collision scene or if EMS have cleared them on scene
If the driver attends the CRC and state they have any head/neck pain, the CRC will always direct them to go to the hospital for examination. After the person is seen by a doctor, depending on the level on injury, CRC will determine if it’s a CRC report or if an officer is required.
If the driver is on any concussion protocol, then the CRC will not take the report.
In relation to scrapes from airbags, CRC will take these reports.
In relation to bleeding, as long as there are no broken bones and the blood is not coming from the eyes, mouth, nose or ears, CRC will take these reports.
CRC is not allowed to do MVC Reports when collision result in any broken bones.
CRC will not accept collisions involving cyclists
CRC will not accept if a pedestrian is struck
No City of Hamilton Vehicles (plows, HSR, trucks, etc)
