Appearance Notice

Appearance Notice:

•   Compels Accused to Court after Arrest/Charge

•   Contains a Court Date; Print Date only for Dual/Indictable Offences

•   No conditions can be added

•   Commonly used for a releasing an Accused on scene or for executing an Endorsed Bench Warrant where only a new court date is required

Patrol requirements:

• Complete the Appearance Notice on scene, ensure that all areas are completed correctly (see below for example.  Issue the Green Copy to the Accused.  The back of the Appearance Notice must be completed and SWORN To in front of a Commissioner of Oath (Divisional Admins or Records). 

• Scan the sworn copy into the Niche Occurrence under the Accused with the BDL title Appearance Notice –Adult/Youth – SIGNED/SWORN TO. 

• Task Records Releases to add to CPIC.  

• Send the hardcopy of the Appearance Notice to Case Prep through internal mail/Sgt’s box. 

• Call Records for a Future E-tracker
