Check Your Visa Type: All students must hold either a Non-Immigrant ED or Non-Immigrant ED PLUS visa.
Verify Your Initial Permitted Stay: Upon your first arrival in Thailand, you should have been granted 90 days of permitted stay.
Renew Your Passport if Necessary: If your passport is valid for less than six months before your visa extension, you must renew it. To do so, please contact your embassy in Thailand.
Submit Documents on Time: Prepare and submit all required documents in hard copies.
Extend Your Visa Before It Expires:
Students must visit the immigration office to extend their visa before the expiration date.
Failure to extend your visa will result in an overstay fine of 500 Baht per day, up to a maximum of 20,000 Baht.
Overstaying may also lead to a ban from entering Thailand, as stated in the Acknowledgement of Penalties for Visa Overstay (STM.9 form).
Students are solely responsible for any fines incurred.
Student Type:
Exchange student = Students from SIIT partner universities
External student = Students from special program such as SPI-U or student who are not from SIIT partner universities
Please submit the following documents in hard copies to Ms. Chonticha at the IA&CR division by the deadline. (The deadline will be informed on the orientation day.)

Once the letter for visa extension completes, you will receive an email from Ms. Chonticha.
To receive the letter, please bring the following completed documents with you:

Please glue your photo in the Visa Extension Form
Student Status Certificate (Exchange students only)
You will be able to request after your course registration is done
You can choose either original or electronic file. If you choose electronic file, please make sure to download it and print it out.
The certificate is valid 2 months from the request date until the date you extend visa
Academic Record (transcript)

Original Admission Letter (External students only)
Since an external student are unable to request for the student certificate, please contact the Admission division to receive an orginal admission letter.
Registration Receipt (External students only)
Please contact the Finance division to receive the receipt.
You are eligible to visit the immigration office up to 45 days prior to your visa's expiry date to submit the required documents for a visa extension.
Please bring the following documents:
1. All required documents above + Cover letter by SIIT
2. VISA Fee of 1,900 Baht (cash only)
3. Original Passport
SIIT Transportation Service
SIIT provides a van service once a week for students going to the immigration office. You can make a reservation at Van Reservation
Please note that SIIT van service is optional. You can go to the immigration on your own.
Once you have submitted your documents to the immigration office, your visa will be extended, and a visa extension stamp will be placed in your passport.
You will also receive a 90-day-report Notification attached in your passport. Please make sure to complete the 90-day-report within the due date.
