course Registration

SIIT offers 9 international programs in Engineering, Technology, and Management. All courses are taught in English. Eighty percentage of all courses are offered to the exchange students. An exchange student can register courses from various programs.

Course registration requires permission/approval of each program prior to registration.

Step 1:

The exchange students will be able to select courses and manage their course schedule prior to arrival. The list of courses and course schedule are normally finalized 1 month before the semester begins. The exchange students will receive the list of courses and course schedule from the International Office at least 2 weeks before the semester begins by email.

Course Schedule 1/2019 will be updated 2 weeks before the semester starts.

Students should select courses and fill out a Course Pre-selection Plan. Please email the form to the International Office once complete.

Please note:

  • Most of courses on the list are undergraduate courses except 4 courses in Logistic and Supply Chain Systems Engineering are Master courses. Master students can take some undergraduate courses. Be sure to choose courses that correspond to the level at which you were admitted to SIIT.
  • In the Google Sheet of the Course Schedule, there are 5 sheets:
    • 1. Your study level (Bachelor or Master)
    • 2. Courses for Undergraduate Students
    • 3. Courses for Master Students: You will see the list of Undergraduate courses which are available for Master students and also Master courses.
    • 4. Exam Schedule of EE program
    • 5. List of countries that cannot enrolling TU105
  • The numbers of credits (e.g., 3(3-0-6)) represent the credits, lecture hours, laboratory/practice hours, and self study hours per week.
  • One course is awarded 1-3 credits
  • Undergraduate Courses belongs to the following programs:

1. Basic Courses: Genteral, Math, Sciences

2. Chemical Engineering (ChE) Program

3. Civil Engineering (CE) Program

4. Industrial Engineering (IE) Program

5. Mechanical Engineering (ME) Program

6. Information Technology (IT) Program

7. Computer Engineering (CPE) Program

8. Electrical Engineering (EE)Program

9. Management Technology (MT) Program

10. Engineering Management (EM) program

  • Graduate Courses:

1. Logistics and Supply Chain Systems Engineering (LSCSE) Program

  • All exchange students are required to register at least 9 credits but not over 22 credits per semester.
  • Popular courses are offered in different sections to keep class sizes small. Please carefully check the schedule of each section.
  • Most of courses take 3 hours. The class can be separated into 2 - 3 days.
  • If you select the course which has the tutorial class, your class schedule for the tutorial class cannot be replace by other course. For example, ECS315 has classes on Tuesday 10.40-12.00 and Thursday 13.00-14.20, and the tutorial class takes place on Tuesday 14.40 - 16.00. Your course schedule of Tuesday 14.40-16.00 is occupied.
  • The exam schedule might be revised.
  • Management Technology (MT) and Engineering Management (EM) programs have a large number of students so the seat availability in MT and EM programs are limited. Exchange students who are in MT and EM programs have the first priority to register MT or/and EM courses.
  • If you would like to register courses in the different year and programs, you must be aware that this can involve having lectures on the same day and time. Also there might be an overlap in the exam schedules. Please check the course and exam schedule to make sure your lectures or exams DO NOT overlap.
  • SIIT has two campuses. One is located at the Thammasat University, Rangsit Campus, and other one is at the Bangkadi campus, which is located 30 km. from Rangsit.
      • Courses offered at Rangsit (RS): CE, ChE, ME, IE, LSCSE programs (GTSxxx, TUxxx, ELxxx, CESxxx, CHExxx, MESxxx, IESxxx, SExxx)
      • Courses offered at Bangkadi(BKD): IT, EC, CPE, MT, and EM programs (ITSxxx, ECSxxx, CSSxxx, and MTSxxx)
      • Note: SIIT provides free shuttle buses and vans between the campuses.

Step 2:

The International Office will assist the exchange students forwarding their selected courses to each program for approval. Once the course is approved. The status of your selected course will be "Reserved".

On the orientation day, the exchange students will get the feedback on their selected courses. If the course is approved, it is able to be registered. If not, the exchange student need to find a new course.

Step 3:

Once the selected courses are approved, the exchange students will fill out the Course Registration Form for the official course enrollment. Students can view your registered courses at reg.siit.tu.ac.th.

Please note:

  • Course registration for the exchange students will be done in the second week of classes. All exchange students must attend classes in the first week even if your name will not be on the list of classes. Please inform the instructor that your course registration is in process. During the first 2 weeks of classes you can make changes to your courses schedule, adding and/or dropping courses as needed. The International Office will assist the exchange students regarding the course enrollment. In case that the exchange students would like to add or drop a course, they must contact the International Office first. Any modification of your courses must be informed the International Office first.
  • You have an program advisor and study program at SIIT based upon your highest selected courses in the application form. For example, at your home university, you are studying in the Management Technology program but your highest selected courses in the application form are in the Industrial Engineering program. Your study program at SIIT will be Industrial Engineering program.
