International staff/students must apply for the re-entry permit before departing from Thailand. Otherwise, your current visa will be automatically terminated.
International students holding a Non-Immigrant ED Plus visa are exempt from applying for a re-entry permit. This means they can depart and re-enter Thailand during their studies without needing to obtain a re-entry permit.
The re-entry permit must be applied for in person at the immigration office or at an airport or border checkpoint on your departure date.
The validity of the re-entry permit is the same as the visa expiry date.
