All exchange students must apply for non-immigrant ED (Student Visa) before arriving in Thailand.
After receiving the acceptance letter from SIIT, please contact the Thai Embassy/Consulate in your city to apply for the student visa as soon as possible. Holder of this type of visa is entitled to stay in Thailand for a maximum period of 90 days. The exchange student must apply for an extension of stay at the Office of the Immigration Bureau in Pathum Thani Province (1900 baht) and he/she will be granted such extension for a period of his/her study at SIIT (until 31 May 2022). The visa extension procedure will be explained on the orientation day. ****Please note that you can not stay in Thailand over 31 May 2020 becuase your student status will end and you cannot extend the visa just for traveling).

1. What are the required documents for the visa application?
Answer: SIIT will send you the letter of acceptance. Apart from the letter of acceptance, please directly contact the Thai Embassy/Consulate in your country to receive more the information.
2. Can I enter Thailand with the Tourist Visa and then change to Student Visa later?
Answer: According to the regulations of Thai Immigration Bureau, you cannot change the type of visa from Tourist to Non-immigrant ED after arriving in Thailand. You must hold the Non-Immigrant ED Visa before entering in Thailand.
