Course Registration for Exchange Students
In order to register for the exchange program at SIIT, students must follow specific guidelines, especially concerning the academic level and the courses available for exchange students as follows:
Eligibility and Application:
SIIT accepts exchange students at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. However, it is important to note that all courses available for exchange students are at the undergraduate level.
Registration Level:
Regardless of the student's academic level at home university, exchange students will be officially registered as undergraduate or graduate students at SIIT under the following conditions:
Undergraduate Exchange: (4-year study or 8-semester study)
Undergraduate students from partner universities have the flexibility to choose approximately 60% of the total undergraduate courses offered at SIIT. Some limitations apply, particularly to lab-based courses and senior project courses designed for SIIT's fourth-year students only.
Despite being at the graduate level at home university, if the total study duration, including both undergraduate and graduate studies, does not exceed four years (8th semester during studying at SIIT), the student will be registered as an undergraduate exchange student at SIIT. This means they can enroll in up to 60% of undergraduate courses.
Graduate Exchange: (more than semester 8th)
A graduate student who is beyond the fifth year of study (9th semester) during their study at SIIT, they will be registered as a graduate exchange student at SIIT.
Graduate-level exchange students can also enroll in undergraduate courses, but their options are limited to around 30% of the total courses available.
