Broodling

Base Features (-4 FP)

Goat’s Vitality (8 FP): As twelve actions, a Broodling can remove all Damage Conditions only affecting their physical body.

Timeless (0 FP): Broodlings do not age no matter how much time passes.

Unworldly Corruption (0 FP): The influence of the Black Goat within a Broodling’s being opens them up to their potential patron. They are always aware of the Black Goat’s existence and what could be bargained for.

At any time, they can offer themselves up to the Black Goat, becoming a Chosen One and gaining power in exchange for service. They must have sufficient FP to gain whatever Features they gain from becoming a Chosen One.

Virulent Blood (0 FP): The blood of a Broodling can be bottled as a twisted form of healing elixir, lasting indefinitely if properly sealed. Upon drinking Broodling blood, the drinker may remove one Damage Condition only affecting the physical body.

In addition, the drinker gains the benefits of the Pain Immunity Feature for 12 hours and may remove one Damage Condition only affecting the physical body each hour for the duration.

However, as a side effect of drinking Broodling blood, the influence within the blood causes a brood of new Broodlings to begin gestating within the drinker. If the drinker is capable of bearing offspring, the Broodlings gestate in the relevant organs and are born naturally, something significantly easier than a normal pregnancy.

If the drinker is physiologically incapable of bearing offspring, the brood instead gestates within the organ cavity. In this case, the Broodlings have to be surgically removed or claw their way free once mature.

If not removed, the creature gains the Eviscerated Damage Condition as the Broodlings claw their way out. A creature with Eviscerated has its functional Kick Ass and Bad Ass reduced by 3, has its Speed reduced to 1 ft. and has 6d4 actions before it gains the Death Damage Condition, if it is affected by effects that require biological reactions.

Broodlings take 1d6 hours to gestate, and a single brood consists of 2d4 Broodlings. Broodlings are born about an inch in hight, but grow at a rate correlating to their nutritional intake, allowing them to potentially reach maturity in a matter of moments. They are born with the basic world knowledge and language comprehension possessed by their mother.

Mother’s Will (-4 FP): Broodlings are instinctually worshipful of their mother, the creature that created them as a result of drinking Broodling blood. Viewing their mothers as something akin to gods, they will do anything that their mother asks and seek to aid what they believe is their mother’s will at all costs, even if it threatens their own life.

If the Game Master rules that the player is failing to follow this behavior, the Game Master takes control of the character until this has been corrected.

Note: Some Broodlings do overcome this instinctual worship and no longer inherently obey their mothers. This development is mechanically represented as them buying back this Weakness.

Feeble (-8 FP): A Broodling’s Kick Ass and Bad Ass is reduced by 1. This cannot reduce an Ability Score below 1.
