Base Features (0 FP)
Fungal Resilience (1 FP): Adna are incredibly hardy and can survive on nearly any organic material, rarely suffering from poisons or infection. When making a Bad Ass Check (1d12 + Bad Ass) to resist the effects of toxins, pathogens, hostile environments or starvation, they may roll twice and use the higher result.
Recuperate (1 FP): After a full rest, Adna can remove one Damage Condition only affecting the physical body, not including Death. Whether a given Damage Condition can be removed or altered is at Game Master discretion.
Symbiotic Network (1 FP): Adna can communicate telepathically with others in their settlement or those who host their spores. Any organic living creature they touch for at least an hour gains the Adna Infection Damage Condition as their spores take root in its body.
Adna Infection allows the creature with it to communicate with them telepathically over any distance. Any creature with Adna Infection from them can communicate with any other creature they have given Adna Infection.
If the corpse of a creature with Adna Infection is allowed to decompose in a moist nutrient rich environment, it will be consumed by mycelium and a new Adna will be created as if the corpse was buried in an Adna bog.
Sporogenesis (0 FP): An Adna’s bodily waste contains spores that seed the cesspools of their settlements. The subsequent mycelium networks that grow from and feed on their waste are composed of the genetic material of all Adna living in the settlement, forming an Adna bog.
When a corpse heavier than 50 lb. is buried in an Adna bog formed by two or more Adna, the mycelium does not only break down and consume the body, but grows into and gradually replaces its tissue. This process takes 1 week per 50 lb. of the corpse.
After the mycelium has replaced all the dead creature’s tissue, the replica emerges as a new Adna. The Adna anatomically resembles the corpse that formed it, but has no other traits of the dead creature and is a blank slate that must be nurtured and taught in order to function independently, a task normally handled communially.
Voracious Scavenger (-1 FP): Adna have a strong desire to seek out and consume organic material, sustaining themselves and their settlement’s mycelium. Any Check made to play on their desire for food, such as attempts to tempt or trick with promises of food, has its result increased by 1d4.
Voiceless (-2 FP): Adna have no voice and lack the linguistic processing to learn any sign language without significant effort. They can only communicate with other creatures via the Symbiotic Network feature.
Optional Features
Changeling (2 FP): When an incapacitated Undead or corpse that will soon rise is buried in an Adna bog, even the subsumption of its physical remains may not dislodge the clinging spirit. They lose all base Features of the Undead and Features directly from their previous Species, but gain this Feature and all base Features of the Adna clan.
Their body requires food, water, air and sleep to function, but does not require them to live. When they would die from the absence of one of these resources, they instead gain the Dormant Damage Condition. Dormant has the effects of the Unconscious Damage Condition, but is only removed if the missing resource is present in their environment.
In addition, if they would die from a toxin, pathogen or similar ailment, they instead gain the Unconscious Damage Condition. When Unconscious is removed (normally after a full rest), they awake completely cured of the ailment affecting them. Likewise, taking a full rest while affected by such an ailment, whether life threatening or not, will cure them of the ailment after the full rest.
Fungal Puppetry (2 FP): Rarely an Adna will develop the gruesome ability to revive a recently dead creature, replacing the creature’s damaged tissues with their own flesh. As twelve actions, they can remove the Death Damage Condition from a creature with the Adna Infection Damage Condition. A corpse that has not meaningfully decomposed can be given Adna Infection through the implantation of their tissue, gaining Adna Infection an hour after implantation.
The creature loses Death, gains the Fungal Resilience and Recuperate Features from the Adna clan and the Fungal Puppet Weakness. Fungal Puppet is a -2 FP Feature that causes the creature to obey their commands, although it is not required to obey commands that directly threaten its life or core values. Creatures immune to mental tampering cannot have Fungal Puppet.
Border Guide (1 FP): The Adna is familiar with the twists and flows of the Borders, allowing them to more easily navigate from one Domain to another. Any Check they make to navigate in a Border or find a chosen Domain has its result increased by 1d4.
If using the Loot And Bling rules, they can gain Money Points (MP) by guiding other sapients from Domain to Domain. Each journey is worth 1 MP per FP they have in this Feature.
For 2 additional FP, the result is increased by 2d4, rather than 1d4. This additional cost can be paid repeatedly, adding another 1d4. The cost increases by 1 each time.
