The Turtle's Tsunami

The Turtle's Tsunami - Phoebe Yoo (Mcauliffe Middle School, 6th Grade)

“Crack!”

Hundreds of baby turtle eggs bursted open with baby turtles crawling to shore. Guided by the sound of the ocean waves, the baby turtles reach their destination. Upon arrival, the waves grew thick and winds blew harder.

The once bright sky disappeared into the dark waves of the ocean, roaring and hissing in every direction. Swept away by the current, the baby turtles swam around and around in the strong  grasp the waves had on them.

When it seemed like all hope was lost, it came to an abrupt stop. Relieved, the baby turtles swam again.
