Corners - Maya Ghosh (Ransom Everglades Middle School, 6th Grade)
Corners are secrets,
They sit untouched.
Covered in dust,
Boxes are tucked into corners,
and ignored.
Memories are tucked into corners,
and put off.
In the corners of our minds,
Overlooked thoughts lurk, waiting to jump out. Imagine a world without corners.
No edges, just “round”.
Everything would be cushy,
But with nowhere to tuck
Unwanted items…
unwanted memories…
Unwanted thoughts…
Everything will be out in the open
If you try to hold all your belongings in your arms Or you try to keep all your thoughts
in the center of your mind
Your spine might crack
And you might fall
Down into the corners of
Life.
