The Witch's Child - Tutu Liao (Fairmont Anaheim Hills Private School, 6th Grade)
Prologue
It was a bright summer day, the grass was green, and the flowers were full of colors the day Prince David met Princess Klina. Their parents had arranged a marriage, and an alliance between the Wizaire and Wtichvles Kingdoms. The families knew this arrangement will help them defeat the evil Darzune Kingdom and save both worlds.
Chapter 1
Thunblood Awakes
“Wake up! Wake up!” Rosa shouted, “We will be late!”
She rocked Violet back and forth, screaming like a dragon, while Violet slept like one. “Late for what?” Yawned Violet. She put her head under her pillow to block Rosa’s shouting. It was only 8:00 in the morning, and on a Sunday. Her only day to sleep in! “It’s Sunday, so no school!” Violet groaned.
“It’s the day of Purple!” shouted Rosa, “Now wake up!”
“Okay! I’ll get up! But what’s the day of Purple? She asked curiously, while she put on her favorite purple dress. How ironic.
“Well, Purple is the name of Queen Klina’s dragon,” Rosa began explaining, “And Purple will wake up from her long slumber to roar, and each roar will result to a snowflake falling, and whoever the snowflake lands on will be the next witch queen! The ceremony is in Mosa Mountain, very far away by the way,” She exclaimed. “Also, it starts at 8:30!” “Oh no! Let’s go now.” Violet quickly grabbed her coat and hat, then ran to the door. They ran across the plaza, where Mr. Fooze sells the best chocolate cakes, past the library
where Ms. Honey knows almost everything, and stopped at a beautiful meadow, sprinkled with daisies and tulips.
“I h-hate r-running...” panted Violet. She wiped the sweat off her face, as Rosa admired the meadow’s beauty. Suddenly, the ground trembled.
RrrRRrrRARRR!
A deep, loud roar rang across the fields, swaying the grass with great force. “That’s…not friendly…” Violet whispered and held Rosa’s hand.
“Yeah...and I don’t like it! Let’s get out of here!” Rosa squeezed Violet’s hand. They turned around swiftly and ran away in fear, and the loud rumble soon slowly disappeared. After a few more breaks and running, Violet and Rosa finally reached the destination. “Attention please!” shouted Queen Klina. Everybody went quiet. “Now, let us begin!” Slowly, a purple dragon rose from the palace and opened its mouth.
RRRROOOOAAAAARRR!!!!

A tiny snowflake popped out of its mouth. It floated delicately and landed on Violet’s hand. Then she looked up and saw Queen Klina smiling.
“Well, lucky girl, what’s your name?” asked Queen Klina.
“Well, I am—um— I am Violet.” She hesitated.
“Well Violet, how do you feel sipping tea at my palace today?”
Violet looked at Rosa, then she looked at Queen Kina who was still smiling, and then back to Rosa. Finally, she got the answer.
“Yes, I will come but I want to bring a few friends.” She said looking at Rosa. “That’s settled then. Guards! Go set the carriage!” The Queen whisked her hand, and they rode to the palace. There were crowds of guards, servants, and maids who were preparing for winter.
“You’ve been chosen for a reason Violet. A reason,” Queen Klina said.
“You’ve been chosen because you have the power in you, I know it.”
“Well, I’m useless right now, I can’t even use a simple levitation spell!” Violet sighed. Queen Klina looked at the girl and thought that Violet had a birthmark similar to her long-lost daughter. No, surely it can’t be... she thought. Then she calmed herself. She decided to keep it a secret until she knew for sure. But if Violet was her daughter, she would have to speak with her husband, King David, which she had not spoken to since their last fight.
RRrrrRRrrrrRAR!
“It’s that noise again!” Violet shouted, “It’s the noise!”
“I should have known! Thunblood is having the ceremony today too!” Queen Klina shouted louder. Then there was a silence, and the Queen started shaking her head. “Let’s go for tea,” She sighed.
Meanwhile, the wizards were drinking beer and singing songs. They were feasting like pigs.
“I give a toast to Thunblood, who keeps us together with blood!” King David gave a toast to all his people.
“To Thunblood!” the people sang back.
ROOOOAAAAARRRRR!
Thunblood roared with cheer, the people sang, and King David toasted! Everything was full of joy until they saw somebody shouting at them,
“A message for King David!”
“How dare you enter the wizard’s den without permission!” A wizard said in the distance.
“No, how dare he message us!” said another.

Now the wizards were fighting. King David just rolled his eyes and looked at his dragon. RRRRROOOOAAARR! Thunblood signaled for silence. Everybody became quiet. “Now, person, you give me that note of yours and run off, or else.” King David said and gave the person a hard stare. The person gave King David the note, smiled an eerie smile, and disappeared.
Strange, thought King David. Then, he opened the note. It read,
“Hello dear, I will tell you the secrets of Queen Klina...IF you marry me. That’s the deal. You have 24 hours to think. After you got your mind made up, write to me, you know where I live. Hope you say yes, Zuna P.s if you say no, a deal is a deal but I might kill you so I can marry you.”
“Raugh, it’s Zuna again,” King David groaned. He wrote to her “No.” but she still sends them. He’s been thinking to give up and marry Zuna, but what if the fight between him and his wife end? What will he tell his wife if the fight ends? Will there be another fight between him and his wife if he married Zuna? But instead, a fight of death? He does not know. He does not want to risk it either. But he is afraid Zuna will kill him if he runs out of time, and still disagrees. King David sighed. What on earth will he do?
