The Revenge of Marethyu

The Revenge of Marethyu - Elliot Rhee (Jackson Walnut Park)

“Get back here!” Marethyu says to this unknown… creature. He thinks it’s a Cucubuth, but he hasn’t gotten close enough for him to tell. He’s panting, but somehow the creature is still running at full speed. “How does this thing have so much energy?” He asks himself, as he reluctantly lets the creature get away. 

Let’s backtrack a bit. Marethyu just defeated a wave of Cucubuths. He wasn’t paying attention carefully, and when he hopped to another shadow realm one of the creatures came up to him and stole his hook! It just ran up behind him and grabbed it off his arm. You see, just before, Marethyu had to fix his hook a little and he just didn’t tighten it enough. His hook is debatably the most powerful weapon on earth. It is called the Hook of Aether, and Aether is the most powerful element on the earth. It is only made when all of the elements mix. Marethyu’s hook was forged when The 4 Swords of Power, Excalibur-The Sword of Ice, Clarent-The Sword of Fire, Joyeuse-The Sword of Air, and Durendal-The Sword of Earth; all came together to create his hook. Marethyu used to be called Josh Newmen, but when the swords became a hook, he changed.

Back to the present, Marethyu is sitting in his shadow realm when he gets an unsuspected call. It’s the creature from earlier! It says “I have kidnapped your sister. You will listen to me or it’s over for her.”  Suddenly the line changes. The voice sounds so familiar. The person on the phone says “Don’t listen to that creature, he’s lying. I am the one holding your sister. You will do what I tell you to.” “No” Marethyu replies. “No? I’m confused” the other person says. “I will find my sister. Without listening to you” Marethyu says. Then, all of a sudden, Click, and the other guy hangs up. Marethyu is shocked at what just happened. Then suddenly he realizes…the voice is Deroph The Destroyer. 

Marethyu calls for his horse and thinks for a second. He knows Deroph lives in The Dark Side, but he doesn’t know how to get there. He also knows Deroph because believe it or not they were actually friends once! Until Deroph turned evil. But, it’s not time to think about that. He decides to track down the creature because, frankly he needs his hook, or Marethyu will not be strong enough to beat Deroph. He also figures the creature could give him some good advice. He starts his mission to track down the creature when an old friend gives him a call… “Hello? Marethyu? I found that creature you were looking for. It’s running across 19th Ave right now headed towards the Golden Gate Bridge.” “Thanks, Scathatch” Marethyu replies, as he heads off to San Francisco.

When Marethyu arrives, he calls Scathatch. “Where are you?!” Marethyu asks. “I’m at 456 7th Ave,” she replies in a hushed tone. “Why on Earth are you there?” He asks “I’m following the creature.” She answers “OK coming,” he says. When he finds her, Scathatch says “it’s right up there!” Just as Marethyu runs by her to catch the monster. He jumps on top of it and pins it to the ground, growling “Where is my hook?” It stammers “I-II It’s in my bag! Please don’t hurt me” Marethyu immediately searches his bag and puts his hook back on. “Oh yes, the power!!!” He exclaims before looking at the creature and saying “You come with me.”  

“Where is he?” Marethyu asks. “I won’t tell you,” the creature says, defiantly. “Sike! He’s in the galaxy shadow realm.” the creature says, waving his hand over his head. That’s all he had to hear. He went straight there.

At Deroph’s castle, he walked in and immediately sensed a trap. “Oh, Deroph,” he called, waiting for a surprise. Soon after he heard “Hello, Marethyyyuuu.” “Come out where I can see you,” Marethyu demanded. Soon after he saw a shape emerge from the shadows. “Come on, fight me,” Marethyu demanded, and got ready to fight. Clash and then, in one sword swing, Deroph was on the floor, unmoving.
