Pittosporum

Opposite are two seedlings of Pittosporum undulatum. The tiny one at the bottom has just germinated and only has the cotyledons. The older one in the centre has slightly toothed leaves at first and these are progressively replaced by leaves with smooth edges.

A seedling of the yellow-flowered pittosporum, P. revolutum is shown on the right. It looks similar at first, but gradually takes on a darker colour, with smoother, shiny leaves.
