Baloghia
Brush bloodwood, Baloghia inophylla, is a shade-loving shrub or small tree.
The leaves are opposite, with each pair at right angles to the previous ones. A clear fluid exudes from any damage and this turns blood-red after being exposed to the air.
The fruits are explosive and make a distinct popping sound on hot, dry days.
