Cyclophyllum

It's easy to mistake coast canthium for large-leaf privet. To tell them apart, look at the nodes (below). Coast canthium has two very tiny leaflets there that privet lacks. Also, if you tear the privet leaf, the top skin (epidermis) separates from the underlying tissues. Canthium leaf tissues don't separate so easily.

Coast canthium produces plenty of regenerating seedlings and larger plants often sucker as well. The white flowers are followed by fleshy fruits.
