Archontophoenix

Bangalow

We have two kinds of palm, cabbage tree and bangalow. They are easy to tell apart, because bangalow palm seedlings (Archontophoenix cunninghamiana) have divided or fishtail leaves, while cabbage tree palms have an undivided leaf that sticks vertically upwards from the ground. They are both very tolerant of flooding, but are easily killed by drought.

It's scarcely worth bothering to transplant small bangalow palms, because they rarely survive. However, these seeds that have only just sprouted a root and shoot transplant easily, but you must keep the connection to the seed undamaged.

Even easier, pop the ungerminated seeds into moist soil wherever you want them. Unless there's a drought, most will grow with little further effort from you.
