My project involved putting together gift bags for the homeless. These bags were equipped with chips, water, vienna sausage, a cereal bar, and the address for the closest three shelters. These bags were passed out to Saint Mark’s middle school parents so that they may give it to the homeless when driving around. A special thanks to Lydia Celenski and Kylie Lyman for their assistance in passing out these bags and a second thank you to my father, David Tilbury, for helping me buy the goods.
The purpose of my project was to raise awareness for the number of homeless in the Broward County area and provide a small amount of help for them.
My project focused on the homeless community of Broward County. I prepared a little over twenty bags filled with water, chips, vienna sausage, and applesauce. Additionally, each bag contained a piece of paper with the address for a nearby shelter. At drop-off, myself, Lydia Celenski, and Kylie Lyman passed them out to parents so they could keep it in their car and give it to any homeless they may see.
