Project Description
I held a drive for the Humane Society of Broward County, which collected paper towels, hand sanitizer, dog treats, large towels, white copy paper, disinfecting wipes, KMR (kitten milk replacer), Espilac (puppy milk replacer), corrugated cat scratchers, cat treats, cat toys, and dog toys.
Purpose
The purpose of my drives was to support an organization that gives food and shelter to animals without forever homes. Last year alone, they helped and supported over 10,000 pets. It is a financially independent nonprofit in need of supplies.
I hoped to collect tons of supplies to help the animals at the Humane Society!
Reflection
Through this project, I learned to reach out to people and advocate successfully for a cause. I went to different pet stores and asked to hold drives there. Pet Supermarket said yes, so I put a box near the register for two weeks. I also reached out to family and friends to ask for donations.
One failure I had during this drive was my drive at Pet Supermarket. I didn't collect many things on my list, but I did collect cat food, calendars, and various other donations, and I appreciate everyone who donated. However, the Amazon drive I held had a lot better results, and I collected lots of things on the list that I hope will help the Humane Society out.
