Cornbread
Recipe is for a medium skillet
Ingredients:
2 tablespoons Canola Oil
1 1/4 to 1 1/2 cups Martha White Self Rize Cornmeal
1 egg
1 1/3 cup buttermilk
Directions:
1) Heat over to 450 degrees
2) Put the 2 tablespoons of oil in the skillet and put in the oven to loosen the oil. Not to a point where it is smoking
3) Just before skillet oil is ready, in a stainless steel bowl, mix the cornmeal, broken egg, and buttermilk. Stir and mix good
**Don't mix too soon before oil is ready or it might start to rise and affect the outcome of the cornbread
4) Once oil is hot, pour about 3/4 of the skillet oil in to the mixture and stir that good
5) Pour the mixture in to a hot skillet
6) Put in the oven right away for about 20 minutes
Top should be brown on top but not burned
7) Take out of oven and turn upside down on to plate....should fall out of skillet relatively easy
