Tom Jenks

The son of trainer Willie Jenks, Thomas Percival Jenks was born in Wolverhampton on January 12 1973 and began his career as an amateur.

Through injury, he missed the winning ride on Earth Summit in the Grand National.

His first winner was Monsieur Le Cure at Ayr on November 16, 1991.

Tom retired to New Zealand and became a sheep farmer.

His best wins included:

1993: Kim Muir - Strong Beau

1995: Peter Marsh Chase - Earth Summit

1997: Welsh Grand National - Earth Summit

1999: Becher Chase - Earth Summit

2000 : Great Yorkshire Chase - Strong Beau
