Thomas Jackson

Thomas Jackson

c1703-1766

Born at Thornton-in-the-Street, near York around 1703, Thomas Jackson was a noted jockey during the first half of the eighteenth century. He rode for Cuthbert Routh of Dinsdale, Yorkshire, and then for Jenison Shafto at Newmarket. 

He died at Nunnington on 22 February 1766, aged 62.

His son, Peter, was also a jockey.
