The Quran Chapter 65 Divorce (Al-Talaaq, At-Talaq, Talaaq) in English.

Chapter : Verse.

(Information in brackets is added to assist readers in the interpretation of the verse).

Quran 65:0 Koran 65:0 Verse 65:0 Ayah 65:0 Ayat 65:0 Aya 65:0 In the name of God, The Most Kind, The Most Merciful.

Quran 65:1 Koran 65:1 Verse 65:1 Ayah 65:1 Ayat 65:1 Aya 65:1 Prophet (Muhammad), when you divorce women (from their husband), divorce them at their Iddah (from the start of their waiting period so they may no longer have sexual relations with each other) and then count (a period after which the menstrual period is completed to determine if pregnancy has occurred, See Quran 2:228 – 2:233) and fear God your Lord. Do not remove them (the divorced wife during their Iddah waiting period) from their (husband's) homes, nor can they (the divorced wife) leave (while they are in the Iddah waiting period), except if they are guilty of open illegal sexual intercourse. This is the law of God. Whoever disobeys the law of God has done wrong to them self. You (the one who divorces) do not know but God might make something new happen (so that you change your mind and your wife is returned back to you if it is her first or second divorce with you).

Comment 3. God forgives adultery if you repent.

Forgiveness for all sins including adultery is in Quran 3:135 – 3:136, 4:17 – 4:18, 4:110 and 25:68 – 25:71.

Quran 25:68 Verse 25:68 And those who do not pray to any other god along with God, nor kill someone who God has forbidden (to be killed) except in the right (by accident, self defence, in battle against the oppression of religion (the oppression against the belief in God) under the wisdom and command of the Prophet of God), nor commit illegal sexual intercourse. And whoever (disobeys and) does that shall pay a penalty -

Quran 25:69 Verse 25:69 The punishment shall be doubled for such a person on the Day of Resurrection and that person shall live there (in the Hereafter) in disgrace -

Quran 25:70 Verse 25:70 Unless he (or she) repents and believes (in God) and does righteous work then God shall change their evil deeds to good deeds. God is always ready to forgive and (God is) merciful.

Note 1. God is always ready to forgive and God is merciful.

There is no sexual sin that God does not forgive including adultery for those who repent to God and then do righteous work.

Note 2. No one can do righteous deeds if they are stoned to death meaning in this verse God tells us that no one is stoned to death for adultery in Islam.

Quran 25:71 Verse 25:71 And whoever repents and does righteousness they surely turn to God with true repentance (that is accepted by God the Most Merciful).

Note 1. Whoever repents and does righteousness they surely turn to God with true repentance that is accepted by God the Most Merciful.

Note 2. No one can do righteous deeds if they are stoned to death meaning in this verse God tells us that no one is stoned to death for adultery in Islam.

Comment 4. The punishment for illegal sexual intercourse.

The punishment for unmarried people who commit illegal sexual intercourse.

Quran 65:2 Koran 65:2 Verse 65:2 Ayah 65:2 Ayat 65:2 Aya 65:2 And when they (the divorced wife) have nearly completed their term (Iddah waiting period) then either take them (the divorced wife) back (by cancelling the divorce) in a good way (between you) or separate with them (by confirming the divorce) in a good way (between you). And take two just men from among you and establish the testimony for (acceptance by) God. That is what should be done by those who believe in God and the Last Day (of the end of the Earth which is followed in the hereafter by the Day of Resurrection and Judgement). Whoever fears God, He (God) shall make a way out (of distress and difficulties) for them.

Quran 65:3 Koran 65:3 Verse 65:3 Ayah 65:3 Ayat 65:3 Aya 65:3 And He (God) shall provide for that person a way (of relief from distress and difficulties) from where they did not expect. And whoever puts their trust in God will find He (God) is sufficient for them. God shall accomplish His (God’s) purpose. God has determined the measure (the outcome) for everything,

Quran 65:4 Koran 65:4 Verse 65:4 Ayah 65:4 Ayat 65:4 Aya 65:4 For your women who no longer menstruate (because of their age), if you have any doubts (about the possibility of them being pregnant with your child then the waiting period Iddah) is three months, and (it is the same) for those who have not menstruated (for any reason). For those who are pregnant, their (waiting) period (before they can marry again, including after the death of their husband) is until they give birth. For those who fear God, He (God) shall make their path easy.

Quran 65:5 Koran 65:5 Verse 65:5 Ayah 65:5 Ayat 65:5 Aya 65:5 That is the commandment of God which He (God) reveals to you (Prophet Muhammad). And whoever fears God, He (God) shall remove their bad deeds and increase their reward.

Quran 65:6 Koran 65:6 Verse 65:6 Ayah 65:6 Ayat 65:6 Aya 65:6 Let the women live (during the waiting period Iddah in a part of the house) where you live, from your means (wealth) and do not harm them so as to oppress them. And if they are pregnant (with a child) then spend (your wealth) on them until they give birth. And if they breast feed (your child) then give them their payment and discuss together according to what is reasonable. But if you are in disagreement then let another woman breast feed (your child) for him (the father of the child).

Quran 65:7 Koran 65:7 Verse 65:7 Ayah 65:7 Ayat 65:7 Aya 65:7 Let those with wealth spend from their wealth and those with restricted provisions spend from what God has given them. Quran 65:8 Koran 65:8 Verse 65:8 Ayah 65:8 Ayat 65:8 Aya 65:8 And how many a town rebelled against the command of its Lord (God) and His (God’s) messengers so We (God) called them to account (for the evil they did) with a great punishment.

Quran 65:9 Koran 65:9 Verse 65:9 Ayah 65:9 Ayat 65:9 Aya 65:9 So that they tasted the bad consequences of their conduct, and their conduct ended with (the) loss (of God’s mercy).

Quran 65:10 Koran 65:10 Verse 65:10 Ayah 65:10 Ayat 65:10 Aya 65:10 God has prepared for them a severe punishment (in the Hereafter) so fear God. All people of understanding, all you who believe, God has sent down to you a reminder (of God) -

Quran 65:11 Koran 65:11 Verse 65:11 Ayah 65:11 Ayat 65:11 Aya 65:11 (Through) a messenger (Prophet Muhammad) reciting to you the clear revelations of God so that He (God) may bring from the darkness (of wrong belief) to the light (of correct belief) those who believe (in God) and do good deeds. And whoever believes in God and does what is good, He (God) shall bring them into gardens (of Paradise Jannah) under which rivers flow, to live in there forever. God has made good provision for them.

Comment 1. The messenger Prophet Muhammad.

See Quran 7:157 comments in Quran chapter 7.

Quran 65:12 Koran 65:12 Verse 65:12 Ayah 65:12 Ayat 65:12 Aya 65:12 It is God who has created (above the Earth) seven heavens (one above the other, seven universes one above the other) and of the Earth (which is the human dwelling place in our universe, God created for each of the seven heavens or seven universes) the same (number of earths, meaning seven dwelling places in the seven heavens, meaning each of the seven heavens that are above the Earth has a dwelling place where angels and souls exist). The commands (of God that maintain the creation) descend through them (meaning through the seven heavens and their seven earths, through the seven heavens and their seven dwelling places, through the seven universes and their seven dwelling places, through the seven universes and their seven earths until they arrive on the Earth) so that you (humans) may know that God is able to do all things and that God knows all things.

Comment 1. The seven heavens in the Quran confirms the Torah Taurat.

Quran 41:12 Verse 41:12 And He (God) completed them (the creation of the heavens in Quran 41:11) as seven heavens (meaning 7 Universes one above the other) in two Days (two periods of time as confirmed by the construction of the sky and the first heaven in day 2 in Torah Genesis 1:6 – 1:8 and day 4 in Torah Genesis 1:14 – 1:19 which were “completed” within the two days “as seven heavens” or 7 universes in Quran 41:12) and decreed His (God’s) command for each heaven (meaning for each of the 7 Universes). And We (God) put lamps (stars) in the nearest heaven (which is the sky of the earth created in Quran 41:11) and made them (our sky and the 7 Universes) secure (protected by God). That is the decree of (God) the almighty, the all knowing.

Comment 2. The seven heavens in the Quran confirms the Jewish Talmud.

The Quran is confirmed in the Jewish Talmud (Jewish learning, Jewish instruction) Tractate of Hagigah (festival offering during the time of pilgrimage before the destruction by the Roman Army of the second temple of God in Jerusalem. Al-Quds) where it is written that “There are seven heavens: Vilon, Rakia, Shehakim, Zebul, Ma’on, Makhon and Arabot.”

The first heaven is Vilon (וילון Vilon meaning curtain). Vilon is the lowest heaven.

Vilon the lowest heaven is a curtain (barrier) that makes the heavens beyond the stars invisible.

Vilon, the heaven nearest the Earth is governed by Angel Gabriel.

The second heaven is Rakia (רקיע Raki’a, Raqi'a. Rakia meaning canopy).

Canopy means covering because this is the second heavenly layer which is built at some distance away from the stars.

The third heaven is Shehakim (שחקים Shekim, Shehaqim. Shehakim means clouds).

Clouds mean covering because this is the third heaven containing life (the third earth).

The fourth heaven is Zebul (זבול Zevul. Zebul meaning habitation).

Habitation means the fourth heaven containing life (the fourth earth).

The fifth heaven is Ma’on (מעון meaning refuge).

Refuge means the fifth heaven containing life (the fifth earth).

The sixth heaven is Makhon (מכון Makon, Machon. Makhon meaning city, established place),

Established place means the sixth heaven containing life (the sixth earth).

The seventh heaven is Arabot (זבול 'Arabot, Araboth, Aravot. Arabot meaning desert).

The seventh heaven is the home of the Throne of Glory (the authority of God).

Desert (a dry place) means the seventh heaven containing life (the seventh earth).

Quran 41:43 Verse 41:43 Nothing is said (by God through the Holy Spirit angel Gabriel) to you (Prophet Muhammad) except what has already been said to the messengers before you (Prophet Muhammad).
