DISCREPANCY REPORTS

Directors are the primary authors of discrepancy reports.

• Newscast Teams – Director, Producer, Engineering/Audio will meet briefly immediately following each newscast for a brief discussion of any issues during the newscast.

• The director will take that input and produce a discrep report based on that information. (Form below, email to "WDAF Discrep")

• Producers will separately produce an editorial Quality Control Report. This will be a brief email that will document positive moments in the newscast and any challenges.

The discrep reports produced by directors will be more widely distributed so that knowledge is shared across several constituencies. They will go to News Managers, Producers, Graphics, Directors, Engineering Coordinators, the general manager, chief engineer and assistant chief engineer, creative services director and news director.

Overall, please remember the purpose of these reports is to help us as a group fix problems and improve and are not intended to criticize individuals.
