INFORMATION: This is where you put a slug/story topic in the "NAME" section. Skip "status" and "priority." You can use the drop down to pick a category to put the story in - or leave it "UNASSIGNED" and the desk will sort it. If you have a start time, enter that using military time. The large box called "BRIEF SUMMARY" is NOT the place to put your story details. We'll get to that shortly. CLICK SAVE. (If you don't see all four tabs, you have not saved your story idea yet.)

LOCATION: Plug in the location of your story. A map will populate. The more detailed your location, the more detailed the map.

ACQUISITION: Fill in the appropriate information. Usually just the first four - reporter, photog, live source and hot spot. If you're just putting in an idea, you can just fill in "reporter" so we know who contributed.

FOLLOW UPS: THIS is where the story details go. You can attach news releases, pictures, etc. Click "SHOW FOLLOW UP EDITOR" and type in your information. Don't forget to click "SAVE". Want to add more information? You can "EDIT" what you've already put in, or post another follow up.

IMPORTANT: One should try to put as much information into the "FOLLOW UP" section as possible, including contact names and numbers. If you are putting in information NOT FOR AIR - please indicate that it is not confirmed/not for air. Also, attribute information. If you got the information from a competitor or competitor's website, note that. Include the link if you pulled from a website. List sources of information.
