Andrew Lynch: Digital Content Manager: Responsible for editorial direction, strategy and accountable for overall team performance. Ensures we’re covering the most relevant local news, employing best digital practices from the corporate digital team, providing feedback and coaching to producers, communicating with other managers about the two-way street between digital and broadcast. Also works with engineering, sales and creative on station projects and day-to-day operations. Oversees elections.
Makenzie Koch: Homepage editor. Responsible for tracking analytics that help inform the curation of our homepage, app, and sections across the site. Also in charge of newsletters. Works 12 – 8:30 p.m.
Maribel Molina: Audience producer. Communicates with me and the team daily about what’s trending and attends to all our SEO needs between discovery on what we should be doing and optimizing our existing content. Analyzes where we’re acquiring clickers from and uses Chartbeat for both headline testing a homepage optimization. Works 10 - 6:30 p.m.
Brian Dulle: Digital producer who works nightside Monday – Friday, 2:30 p.m. – 11 p.m. Responsible for writing breaking news, enterprise content, identifying and publishing compelling wire content and optimizing reporter stories for digital, posting to social platforms.
Juan Cisneros: Digital producer who works early mornings Monday – Friday, 5:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. Responsible for writing breaking news, enterprise content, identifying and publishing compelling wire content and optimizing reporter stories for digital, posting to social platforms.
Zoe Jones: Part-time digital producer who works Friday evenings, Saturday and Sunday nightside. Responsible for writing breaking news, enterprise content, identifying and publishing compelling wire content and optimizing reporter stories for digital, posting to social platforms.
Heidi Schmidt: Digital live producer. Runs point on livestreaming content, both breaking and franchise (We have a couple of recurring web series for Big 12 basketball and a political show called 4Star Politics she produces). Is currently working to bring OBS online as an everyday solution to producing better livestreamed content. Also produces written digital content. Works 9:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Sydnie Holzfaster: Digital reporter assigned to Johnson County, Kansas, our most important demo. Enterprises her story ideas through sources, city council agendas and with help from the newsroom. Shoots, writes, edits all of video content in addition to her web content. Works Monday – Friday with a schedule tailored to the most important city meetings and story opportunities.
Jessica Eley: Digital sports reporter. Enterprises her own story ideas, shoots and finishes at least a daily story. In addition to day-turns, she also does Team of the Week features that air during our weekly sports show, and can pinch hit for a liveshot on air if needed. Works a schedule tailored to games and story opportunities.
Michele Allen: Social media specialist. Splits her time between digital and creative services. Helps produce a lot of content around special and community events we’re a part of, which is a consistent staple of our brand. Has some coding background and works with me to figure out how we can best utilize WordPress tools to display graphics for special sections.
Brianna Lanham: Digital data and investigative reporter. Enterprises stories that break down numbers and figures in a digital-friendly fashion, with both stories and graphics. Also assists Linda Wagar with Problem Solvers investigations and gives the digital team presence with the larger investigative team.
VACANT: Full-time digital producer: Responsible for writing breaking news, enterprise content, identifying and publishing compelling wire content and optimizing reporter stories for digital, posting to social platforms. Will work Wednesday through Sunday, 7 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
