Hickok Cole Architects Studio Sponsors

Since 2012, Hickok Cole Architects has sponsored an Urban Practice Concentration studio to encourage interaction between the firm’s staff and students while helping students in related studio activities such as travel and production. Among other activites, students visit the firm several times during the semester for critiques, discussions and peer review sessions.

Hickok Cole Architects is an award-winning Architectural and Interior Design firm in Washington, DC. Led by Senior Principals Michael E. Hickok, FAIA and Yolanda Cole, AIA, IIDA, LEED AP, the eighty-five-person firm provides design services to the Washington area real estate and corporate communities. The firm specializes in the design of commercial office buildings, multi-family housing and interior design for corporate and non-profit clients.

The association with CUArch Urban Practice works simply because Hickok Cole Architects is passionate about design and the creative process. The firm feels that every great design starts with a strong, clear, thoughtful concept. They believe that great ideas can come from anywhere – from an enthusiastic young designer or a seasoned professional. Inspiration may result from a casual conversation with an employee, an abstract thought about the relationship between worker and workplace, or directly from our client’s program. In every case, it is filtered through an organized and consistent process to assure that the design meets their client’s goals.
