For Cricut users, downloading the Design Space software is necessary. It’s the platform where you will design, customize, and prepare projects for cutting with Cricut machines. A smooth download and installation are required for your flawless crafting experience.
First, you have to open your desired web browser (like Chrome, Firefox, or Edge) and type design.cricut.com/setup into the search field.
After that, you need to select your Cricut machine model from the options available on the page.
Then, check the box to agree to the Cricut Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
Next, click on the Download button.
Once the file is downloaded completely, find that file in your browser’s download area or in your computer’s Downloads folder.
Double-click the downloaded ‘Cricut Design Space‘ file to start the installation process.

First, find the USB port on the back of your Cricut machine and the corresponding USB port on your computer.
After that, plug one end of the USB cable into the machine and the other into your computer.
Then, open the Cricut Design Space software that you have just downloaded, and it will detect your machine automatically.
If Cricut Design Space doesn’t detect the machine, you may need to manually select it from the device list within the software.
Ensure your machine is powered on and within 10-15 feet of your computer.
On your computer, go to your Bluetooth Settings by going to System Settings in the Start menu.
After that, click Devices and then Bluetooth & other devices.
Ensure Bluetooth is on your computer if it’s not already.
Next, your Cricut machine should appear in the list of available devices.
Select your Cricut machine from the list and click Pair or Connect.
If asked in the next window, enter the PIN (0000 for older models) to complete the pairing process.
Once it’s paired, your Cricut machine should be listed as connected in your computer’s Bluetooth settings.

Open Cricut Design Space and navigate to the Images section, and select a simple shape.
Click Make it in the top-right corner and choose your material from the dropdown menu.
Select the accurate cut pressure on the basis of your cutting material.
Load the material onto a cutting mat and then load it into your cutting machine.
Next, press the ‘Go button‘ on your machine to start the cutting process.
After completing the cutting process, unload the mat carefully.
A Cricut machine may not be working because of issues associated with the power supply, connection problems, or firmware glitches. To resolve it:
First, check the power cord connection, if it is plugged into both the machine and the working wall outlet.
Try to plug your Cricut machine into a different outlet to rule out the faulty one.
If using a USB connection, ensure it is connected properly.
Check if other devices don’t obstruct your connection.
You must have the latest version of Design Space installed on your device.
Search for Cricut Design Space and install the app.
Power on your Bluetooth and keep it within the right range of your phone.
Now, Sign In with your Cricut account credentials or create a new one.
Select New Cricut Machine Setup within the app.
Once connected, create your projects.
