Here Are The Basic Instructions On How To Use Cricut Infusible Ink On Wood Follow these step-by-step instructions on how to use Cricut infusible ink on wood. Also, we would love to share the best Cricut tips and tricks with you so you can create flawless Cricut projects with your Cricut cutting machine. The first step is to work with the Cricut Design Space.

Working on the Cricut Design Space

Firstly, we are about to start in the Cricut Design Space. We want to begin by drawing a shape to mimic the size and shape of the surface we are working with. In this case, it is a wooden sign we are working for.

Next, when you download the monogram, you want to use with your project, keep in mind that it has 3 files. There is one for the middle letter, one on the left, and one on the right.

After that, put and size the monogram to fit the sign for your project. It is where drawing a shape to represent your completed sign can be helpful. Now, jump into the next step working on letters and signs.

Working on Letters and Signs

The second step is to cut the letters out of the chipboard and knife blade. If you are handy with a Cricut Explore machine, you can use a thinner material like cardstock or Cricut kraft board.

Next, we will paint the letters with glitter to make them more attractive. Then, shake off the excess and keep it for another project.

Tip: You can usually reach for something like Mod Podge to protect the letters and spread glitter over them. We recommend you use paint as glue. And pick a paint color as close to the color of the glitter as possible. It provides better coverage, and the completed project looks more professional and attractive.

After that, preheat your Cricut Easy Press machine to 400 degrees. Then, cut a piece of infusible ink to fit your wooden sign. Now, take a piece of paper on your Cricut Easy Press mat to save it from ink. Place the infusible ink side down on the wooden sign.

Then, use heat-resistant tape to keep the infusible ink in the exact place so it doesn’t move or twist when you try to heat it with your Cricut Easy Press machine. Now, put your Cricut Easy Press machine down and heat up for 50 seconds. Please give it a good pressure but don’t move the Cricut Easy Press machine.

Next, let it cool down for a while. Then, remove the tape and remove the infusible ink. Note: We did not use the wood with anything before applying the Cricut infusible ink. It was plain wood, and it turned out beautifully.

Tip: You have to work with unstained, unpainted, unfinished, porous wood so that it will take ink well.

Important Reminder: Keep in mind that, once heated, infusible ink sheets will look dull compared to the completed project.

Lastly, stick the letters on the wooden sign. And add your ribbon and bow, and that’s all; you are all set with your wooden sign project!

Conclusion

We hope this blog will guide you on how to use Cricut infusible ink on wood. Cricut Infusible Ink is an ink transfer material that allows you to create professional-level projects. The ink becomes one with the fibers of your material, which means no peeling, no cracks, and it’s washer-proof. Be careful when using this method also works.
