Pretzel Christmas Trees
Looking for a festive, fun, and delicious treat to add to your holiday celebrations? These Pretzel Christmas Trees are the perfect choice! Not only are they incredibly easy to make, but they’re also a delightful addition to cookie platters, dessert trays, or even as sweet holiday snacks. They’re a treat that everyone—kids and adults alike—will absolutely adore.
What makes these pretzel trees so special? It’s their unique combination of salty and sweet. Crunchy pretzels serve as the base, bringing just the right amount of saltiness to balance the sweetness of the chocolate and colorful decorations. The result is a treat that’s as delicious as it is fun to make.
The best part? You can decorate them any way you like! Melted chocolate (or candy melts in festive colors like green and white) is drizzled or piped over the pretzels to create the “tree branches.” From there, the decorating possibilities are endless. Sprinkle them with sparkling sugar for a frosty look, use mini M&M's as “ornaments,” or add edible glitter for that magical holiday sparkle. Top them off with a candy star or a dusting of powdered sugar, and you have the most adorable Christmas tree treats ever!
These pretzel trees are not just tasty; they’re also a fantastic activity to do with kids, friends, or family. Gather everyone together, set out bowls of toppings, and let the creativity flow. Each tree will be a little masterpiece, and the memories you make while decorating them will last long after the holidays are over.
INGREDIENTS
1 cup white chocolate chips
▢
1½ Tbsp coconut oil
▢
5-8 drops green food coloring , use more as needed
▢
20 pretzel sticks
DIRECTION
Add parchment paper to a cookie sheet. Line the pretzel sticks on it with about 1-1.5 inch space in-between. In a microwave safe bowl add the white chocolate and coconut oil.
Microwave the chocolate for 1.5-2 minutes. Stir it well each minute. Microwave for 30 second increments if needed to melt more. Don't burn it!
Once the white chocolate is melted and smooth, add in the green food coloring (if using). Mix it up well.
Carefully spoon the chocolate into the bag. Make sure it's all in the corner. Cut a tiny, small hole in the corner of the bag. Make sure its super small (you can always make it bigger if needed with pressure but you can't make it smaller!)
Working quickly, zig zag over each pretzel. Start with a wider bottom and work your way up into a triangle ship to resemble a tree. Sprinkle them with sprinkles if using. Set them somewhere cool (a garage or outside in cold climates). You can also pop them in the fridge for about 5-10 minutes. They will harden. Peel them off the parchment and enjoy!
