Proposals were lodged for the erection of a goods shed at the station, at this time the extant structure was the only facility provided.

The solitary spur provided serving the goods yard was added to by the creation of a secondary spur further seaward; this would later be extended towards the Ducks Nest and in more recent times has been shortened to create additional parking spaces.
