A sixth one-off locomotive, No.6 Peveril, was supplied from Beyer, Peacock & Co., of Gorton Foundry in Manchester, taking its name from the Sir Walter Scott novel Peveril Of The Peak which was at the height of its popularity, several place names in Peel also taking this moniker over time and the locomotive spending much of its working life on the line serving the west of the Island.
