বাংলা ইশারা ভাষায় ইংরেজি অক্ষর ইশারায় বোঝানো যায়। আশ্চর্যজনকভাবে, অক্ষরগুলো ব্রিটিশ ইশারা ভাষার দুই-হাতের বর্ণমালা (fsE2a) বা মার্কিন ইশারা ভাষার এক-হাতের বর্ণমালার (fsE1a) সাথে বাংলা ইশারা ভাষার ইংরেজি বর্ণমালা পুরাপুরি মিলে না। বরং, বাংলা ইশারাভাষীরা এই উভয় বর্ণমালা থেকেই অক্ষর গ্রহণ করেছেন এবং কিছু অক্ষরের জন্য নিজস্ব স্থানীয় ইশারাও উদ্ভাবন করেছেন, যার মধ্যে কিছু এক-হাতের (fsE1b) এবং কিছু দুই-হাতের (fsE2b)। কিছু ক্ষেত্রে, আমাদের ইশারাভাষীরা অক্ষরগুলো ভিন্ন ভিন্ন ইশারা ব্যবহার করেন, কারণ তারা যেকোনো বর্ণমালা পদ্ধতি থেকেই অক্ষর গ্রহণ করতে পারেন। নিচে আমাদের রেকর্ডিংগুলোতে প্রতিটা অক্ষরের সবচেয়ে প্রচলিত রূপের ছবি দেখতে পাবেন; অক্ষরটায় ক্লিক করলে আপনি এর অন্যান্য রূপগুলোও দেখতে পাবেন।

In Bangla SL, English letters can be represented by fingerspelling. Curiously, the letters do not perfectly match the two-handed alphabet of British Sign Language (fsE2a), nor the one-handed alphabet of American Sign Language (fsE1a). Instead, Bangla Sign Language draws from both of those alphabets, and also has innovated local signs for some letters, some that are one-handed (fsE1b) and some that are two-handed (fsE2b). In a few cases, our signers vary in how they sign the letters, as they can draw from any of these alphabet systems. Below you will see images of the most common form of each letter in our recordings; if you click on the letter, you will also see other variant forms.
