House made out of ice cream, hotdogs, and lollipops.

Graphit, Colored Pencils.

9"x12"in

First I was assigned to make a house made out of ice cream, hotdogs, and lollipops. From there I had to use my imagination to create the house. When I thought of a house made out of ice cream, hotdogs, and lollipops it reminded me of being a kid, and the board game candy land. When I thought of those two things together I imagined one of my favorite places made out of those three things, with a lot of bright colors. I then took that image in my made and created it on paper.

To create this piece of artwork I used graphite, various colored pencils, a shading tool, a ruler, and an eraser whenever I needed to correct something. I started out by sketching out what was in my imagination. From there I began to slowly add color into the drawing as well as shading. Along the way, I would occasionally erase, correct, or redo a part of the drawing. Whenever I needed to make any straight line, especially the outline of the house, I used a ruler.

After I received the assignment I began to imagine a house made out of lollipops, hotdogs, and ice cream. It reminded me of being a little kid and the board game candy land. When I took those two things as inspiration I began to sketch out whatever popped up in my brain. I took the outline of one of my childhood homes and began adding in the three different objects. After sketching, doodling, erasing, and idea changes, I began to add in the color. From there all I had to do was color and add in any extra detail that I saw fit for the drawing.
