The main Idea of these three pieces of artwork was to draw the negative space on the outside of the drawings. For each drawing, I sketched out the objects that I was looking at, and from there I used my imagination to come up with different ways to fill the negative space.
To make all three pieces of artwork I had to use an object to draw off of. Once I had finished sketching the object with an H2 pencil onto my paper, I had to fill in the space less and less with a Sharpie pen. for the second art piece I had to add shading to my finished sketch with my darker colored pencils. Finally, for my third one, I used a pencil and a sharpie pen to draw the outlines of the leaves, and then I took watercolor pencils to fill in the empty space.
For these three pieces of artwork, the assignment was to focus on and draw the space on the outside of the drawing that we were assigned. For the first assignment, I was told to draw 10 different sections with a little more white space every time. I thought that it would look cool if I did mine inside a humpback whale since they are my favorite animals. For the second assignment I was told to draw two different drawings of my hand, and then focus on shading the outside. I put my hand in the first position that popped into my head. from there I lightly traced and once I was happy with what it looked like I did a darker outline. From there I shaded on the outside white space of the drawings. For the last art piece, I was told to draw the outline of leaves and then draw whatever I wanted on the white space. After lightly drawing and erasing my sketch I drew over the finished line with a sharpie marker and from there I thought that it would look cool if I made a bunch of squiggles with some watercolor pencils.
