Artist Inspired

For this assingmetn I was instructed to do some ressearch and find a ceramic artist that stood out to me and whos work inspried me. Once I completed the research part of the project I began using techniques that I had learned throughout the semester to create two bowls that were inspired by the artists work. for this assignment I used clay and glaze.

To create these bowls I used the pinch pot method. I started out wil balls of clay and pinched them into a bowl shaped form until I was happy with their size. I then smoothed the bowls out, let them air out and get fired. Once they were fired I glazed them both with white glaze first and then went back over them with colored galze for design, and they were then set back in the kiln to be finsihed.

With this project I really liked the outcome of the designs and the colored glazes that I used. I enjoyed creating these bowls because it was fun to be able to research an artist that stood out to me and then get to create something inspired by them. I also really liked getting to create something that I know I can use and keep for a long time. I'm really proud of how my piece turned out and I think that it is a good representation of my understanding for this concept.
