70's Collage Painting

Acrylic Paint on Canvas

9" x 12"

As I was looking through magazines to get ideas and images for my collage, I came across a lot of really bright color patterns in one of the magazines. This gave me the idea to do a cool 70's theme full of fun designs and bright colors.

To make my collage I used images cut out from a magazine and glue to glue them down onto a separate piece of paper. To make the painting I used a light board for tracing, acrylic paint, various paintbrushes, and canvas.

To make my collage I cut out different images from magazines, and once I figured out how I wanted them arranged on the paper I glued them down in layers. Once my collage was finished I used a light board to trace out the basic shapes onto my canvas. Once that was done I sketched in more detail onto my canvas and once I was happy with it I started painting. My Ideas didn't really change from when I started to when I finished, however I did choose to change some of the colors in the collage. I mainly changed the color of the van because originally it was in black and white. For the van, I knew that I wanted to do very vibrant colors as well as colors that I hadn't used yet.
