Color Design

For this assignment I was told to create a painting using 84 different colors. My inspiration behind it was an artist named Beatriz Milhazes because she uses a lot of bright colors, and I like painting with different kinds of shapes and playing with how they are all placed together on a canvas.

To make this painting I used acrylic paint, paint brushes, and canvas. I used the 3 primary colors plus black and white for my paint and I stuck with mostly small bristle brushes on white canvas.

I started out by thinking about what would be fun to paint. I thought of abstract would be fun to paint. The amount of different colors that we had to use in this assignment reminded me of an artist named Beatriz Milhazes because she uses a lot of bright colors in her work. From there I started sketching out basic shapes and angles. Then I figured out what colors I was placing where as I was painting and creating them. None of my designs changed from the beginning. I did a couple coats on all of the painted areas of the canvas and then it was done.
