Sea God:
Holy Symbols:
Aspects:
- The Sea god has no specific aspects.
Beliefs:
- The Sea God is a truly neutral deity believing himself to be far more important than the other Gods. He does not dislike any other Gods particularly, but he does object to them enforcing their ideals on things within his realm. This realm includes every living thing that relies on water to survive as well as anything on, in or touching bodies of water. Although relatively open in some ways, his doctrines are very definite about certain issues, particularly theft and property. He is often seen as fickle by unbelievers as he visits blessings only on those who he deems worthy.
- The Sea god has a strict set of Tenets that followers must follow:
- The Sea God is all encompassing; He sees all, He hears all, He knows all.
- The Sea God brings life to those deserving and takes from those who are not, be they cleric, farmer or wench.
- No one man, woman or child shall ever hold dominance over the Sea God’s possessions.
- All shall seek the Sea God’s grace before crossing the waters of the World, lest he grow wrathful at our sins and destroy us for our insolence.
- All the waters of the World are His.
- All that touches on his domains are his to claim.
- All that receive sustenance and life from his possessions are his to claim.
- To kill another without the blessing of the Sea God is to destroy one of His possessions without His permission. The Sea God with visit the guilty with righteous wrath and fury and rain down vengeance upon them and their kin.
- The Sea God’s name should never be taken in vain.
- Those who are vile of nature, dark of spirit or purpose and take the Sea God’s possessions as their own must be punished unrelentingly.
- Thou shalt not steal from another follower of the Sea God. The taking of possessions is the right of the Sea God only.
- Never question the might and wisdom of the Sea God.
- When the Sea God visits flood and fire upon you, your kin and your homes, when he twists you with disease and blights your children, know that he loves you and give thanks.
- There is little organised worship of the Sea God. Each temple or shrine exists at the whims of its clerics and is independent of the others. Worship is wide spread however and just about every coastal settlement and river dependent village has a shrine or chapterhouse of some kind. The clerics are a ragtag bunch of fisherman, sailors and scholars whose only common outlook is centred around the 13 tenets of the Sea God. The Temple in Aberddu was large and popular until very recently, mainly because Aberddu is a busy and (Sea God willing) prosperous sea port. This lack of organisation means there are few feasts and celebrations of note within the religion and virtually no cults or sects.
Holy Days:
- As noted above, the Sea god’s worship is so widespread and disorganised that there are no set down specific Holy Days. As such each church have their own days of worship (OOC: make your own up and follow them yourself, but be careful if you think it may be a bit too extravagant a day or something check with the refs)
Anathema:
- Thieves
- Demons
- Volcanoes (They aren’t his and this confuses the Sea god)
